Sunflowers
One yellow bloom erupts
beneath a birdfeeder.
Seeds planted by a fence never see the sky,
while wild shoots grow tall.
Sunflowers find their own place.
Sun-faced flowers smiled dripping lightly when I turned off the garden spigot last evening…
